Working as part of a health care team at Brightwell Clinic.

When the physiotherapist discusses her assessment of your condition with you it may be that she can help alleviate the immediate symptoms of the pain and injury. However she may feel that without other intervention the symptoms may well recur or indeed may not totally disappear even with physiotherapy.

In such circumstances she may recommend that you visit another member of the team, for example:

  • the podiatrist if there is a problem with your foot which results in a disturbance to your walking or running pattern.

  • If you have lost fitness as a result of injury she may advice that you seek advice from the Clinic's rehabilitation trainer on how best to return to competitive fitness after the initial problem has been resolved or to improve core stability.

  • Inactivity following injury or chronic musculo skeletal problems may result in weight gain and the Clinic's nutritionist may be able to advise on how to shed these pounds without loss of vitality.
